Yeah no shit.

[The literal hellscape outside is howling, the entire town is witch hunting his drug dealer, and Jason Carver is never going home.

It’s almost funny. ] You got any weed on you, by chance. I haven’t smoked a goddamn thing in months.

Jacket pocket. Might be kinda bloody... Probably more a pro than a con.

[ he's so fucking tired. Letting his eyes fall shut, trying not to think about the way Billy's mouth felt on his. ]

You remember my guitar?

[camarod]

My hero.

[He’s rifling, pat, pat, patting until he finds his treasure. ]

- Figured this would be more important. Don’t worry, I’ll go get her.

[He could go now, he supposes. He might feel better if Jason were a little weaker, though. Eddie can’t move, and claws and teeth only go so far. He wets his lips. ] If I leave you with him, you think you’ll be good?

[heatmetal]

[ his eyes roll to Jason. Unconscious but not forever. Not yet. He made a mess of him, drained him Pretty good, but Eddie knows now that doesn't mean they're dead. ]

Yeah. He's tied up.

[camarod]

Mmm.

[He considers. Calculates. Eventually slides the blunt into Eddie’s hand and gets up.] Don’t smoke it without me. If he wakes up, tell him I’m taking a leak.

[See, Billy knows Jason Carver’s only strong when he’s flanked by other jocks. He knows his own rep: knows it must downright piss your pants frightening now considering he’s supposed to be dead.

Eddie can use that.

He’s gone after that: retraces his steps with his eyes watching the skies. All red lightening. Thunder. He’s upset.

It’s not his problem, though. Not anymore.

Eddie’s guitar is not where he found him. It’s about fifty yards away with a slimy baby demogorgan using the strings as a scratching post. Billy rips it off and crushes it under a boot. The guitar, though? That he treats gently, all admiration. Beautiful, really. ]

[heatmetal]

[ he dozes for most of billys absence. Waking only when he hears a clattering, opening his eyes to Jason Carver struggling to escape his binds.

His heart raced. ]

Hargrove's taking a piss. [ Those hateful eyes fix on him. Eddie meets his gaze with measured hatred. ] Stay fucking put.

[ he does. And Eddie sits back up, refusing to show weakness. ]

[He doesn’t take his time, but the storm gets worse and it makes Billy itch. He can see the vines moving; twitching to life and sending signal after signal. He can feel a call, too. Some old connection that never really severed.

He ignores it. Prowls his way home, skin a little dusted with ash, and his adrenaline spiking.

Something is happening out there. Distantly. He hopes it passes them by. Still, he’s alert when he crosses back over the threshhold, baby in hand and - ah. Jason.] Morning, sunshine.

[His grin is still mean as he sits back down at the edge of the bed, holding the guitar flat across his lap.] Gotta clean the strings, killer. One of those things was using it. [It’s a softer murmur for Eddie.

Eddie, Eddie, Eddie, who seems real fucking alive now.] But she’s here, as promised.

[He can feel Jason’s eyes on him. Confused. Afraid. Hateful. Good, he thinks. He’d hate to be predictable.

The guitar he puts down against the dresser - within Eddie’s reach, if he wants it. It frees his hands up to shrug his jacket off. ] Geez, Carver, you keep staring at us like that and a guy might think you have a crush.

[Jason flinches. ]

[heatmetal]

[ eddies whole face lights up at the sight of his baby. First guitar he ever bought on his own. He reaches out to touch her reverently, beaming that she survived and he won't be without music in this hellish new afterlife.

And then there's Jason.

Things got worse in Hawkins once the king spot was cleared. Less magnanimous men took the role. Carver especially pushed an agenda, spitting cruelty. Steve Harrington had been shit but he protected his golden boy image. Carver hid behind his devotion and preached hate.]

You're a real one, Hargrove.

[ but Jason is a threat. ]

Make it up to me by lighting up.

[See, he’s watching Jason squirm. Watching those braincells try to make sense of Billy Hargrove and Eddie Munson, a thousand conspiracies forming. His eyes are wild as he looks between them and Billy has always thrived under attention. ]

Y’know, Munson. Carver here was always a real narc.

[Observations; memories.] Must really fucking blow to go out knowing God doesn’t give a shit.

[heatmetal]

[ give him a sec to find his lighter, thankful that still works despite everything. ]

He might've known that if he ever cracked the good book open.

True that.

[He’s angry. That’s cute.]

Careful, keep struggling like that and you’ll pass out again. [Which he would prefer, honestly. He wants to smoke.

To Eddie, he lowers his voice. ] You feel in control?

[heatmetal]

Yeah... Think so, at least.

[ he wets his lips. Let's those big brown eyes soak in the sight of Jason petrified and helpless. ]

Might get harder with - emotions.

[anger. panic. he reaches for the blunt, takes a long, blissful draw before he passes it back. it’s near euphoric to have his lungs burn.

but he can see Eddie watching. focus zeroed in. ] You want more just take it.

[heatmetal]

[ he licks his lips. Takes the joint and inhales deeply, his eyes never leaving Jason.

The immediate rush of calm is sorely needed. ]

Is he... He dies, he gonna get up like... us?

[camarod]

He won’t get the chance.

[That gets a reaction from Jason. Talking so casually about killing him while smoking pot seems to reignite his fight: Billy watches him trash and moan around the gag through hooded eyes. Lazy. Unbothered. ]

[heatmetal]

[ Eddie growls at the sight of it. A low, reverberating sound that rattles his bones. ]

[camarod]

[He doesn’t laugh, though he kind of wants to. Something about Eddie’s instincts is so new and raw and a little sweet. He takes the blunt and holds to his snarling mouth, tears his eyes away from Jason to murmur:] Easy, killer. I’ll push him close.

[Maybe something about the intimacy makes Jason flinch. Maybe it’s the way Billy smooths Eddie’s hair from his face, or the way his thumb brushes his lip when he gives him the blunt - but when Billy stands, moving to drag the chair, Jason looks at him with a real disgust.

And hmmm, Billy really does hate that.]

[heatmetal]

[ it's soft, and that softness brings him back. blinking those big brown eyes as he tries to hold on to himself - and Jason, Jason looks at him like that and he feels his stomach churn. ]

Yeah, [ he says, blowing smoke directly into the captive boys face ] you were right about one of my sins, man.

[ when he's close enough, Eddie wastes no time in biting down on the other side of his neck. ]

[Maybe he likes Eddie being a little vindictive. Like he sees something familiar in it, and sharing it makes it feel less wrong. He could say that about, well. The obvious. All that wrongness just feels good.

He smokes while Eddie feeds: a few draws that help make him loose and less tightly wound. He’s definitely going to fuck up Jason Carver’s face later, because that look - the disgust he shows even while he’s dropping unconscious - just looks so much like dear old dad.

If he weren’t half-high he’d probably be real mad about it.

Instead he - he kind of wants to lick the stray blood from Eddie’s chin. Kind of wants to taste it on his tongue, and sue him, he’s been here alone for so fucking long it almost feels like a dream to want again. ]

[ Eddie feels Jason go limp and pulls himself back and off, pinker than he was before. the leg doesn't look much better, but the other wounds do.

His eyes are on Billy. The joint between Billy's lips. Billy's lips themselves. He's a beautiful man, a goddamn greecian statue made flesh.

Jason's adrenaline is pumping through his veins. He feels drunk on it.

And Eddie reached out tentatively - Uncertain if he remembers his final moments of life correctly or not - to touch a hand to his cheek, the other pulling the joint away so he can lean in and kiss. ]

[Before he’d probably find the way he melts into embarrassing. But before Billy didn’t have to look far for gratification. Now even just Eddie’s fingers on his face feel electric. He’s never been so fucking touch-starved before: never so relieved to have a mouth against his own.

Sure, there’s the blood - sour and copper - but there’s Eddie, too. He can smell it, has his breath catching as he reaches for Eddie’s shirt to grasp tight. Fuck, even his eyes feel wet. It should be humiliating, not grounding.

And yet - it is. He feels anchored inside his own body when he swipes his tongue against Eddie’s lips, chasing blood and heat. He feels solid, feels wholly himself for a moment. ]

[ it's a desperate kind of kiss. Mournful in a way. He tastes Jason's blood on his own lips and the hunger he feels disgusts him, but the desire he feels for Billy outweighs that. The way Billy reaches for him, the way he licks into his mouth with both literal and figurative hunger.

It's overwhelming. It's perfect.

He breaks first, resting his forehead against Billy's. Breathless and grinning. ]

Guess that answers that.

[camarod]

[He huffs out a laugh, grips Eddie’s shirt a little longer before his fist relaxes, finger moving to tangle in those curls. ] Small towns, [he murmurs, relieved.

God he hopes Jason stays out cold for a while, because Billy wants to enjoy something for once. The press of their foreheads, then Billy nosing against him, dipping in for a peck, then pressing a kiss against Eddie’s jaw, insatiable for the contact.]

[ he tilts his head with a rumble, ringed fingers petting through billys golden curls. ]

Wanted to chance it the first time I heard you laugh, pretty boy.

[There’s a sound low in his throat that is mostly all for having fingers in his hair. He press a kiss just between his jaw and ear, grins. ]
